Chapel Hill ISD 2024 School Bond

Election Day is Saturday, May 4th

The Chapel Hill ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to hold a May Bond Election. On May 4, 2023, voters of our district will decide on a bond package in the amount of $9,300,000.

The Long-Range Planning Committee, comprised of CHISD parents, teachers, administrators, and community members met for several months. This journey began in June of 2022 and the following months. District-wide data and feedback were gathered and analyzed, including district-wide facilities, teacher and staff feedback, school finances, and community input. The proposed bond package will focus on early childhood to address capacity issues and aging facilities.

PROPOSED DISRICT PROJECTS:


  • Elementary Gym

  • Early Childhood Classrooms

  • Ag Mech Expansion

  • Junior High Secure Entrance and Access to The Well

HOW THE BALLOT WILL READ

School District taxes on resident homesteads (except for subsequent improvements) are FROZEN in the year a taxpayer turns 65 years of age and will not increase as a result of this Bond Election.

The disabled are also able to have their school taxes FROZEN. It's important to note that the taxpayer must apply for the exemption. This application must be made to your County’s Appraisal District.

Residence Homestead Exemption Application

All homestead applications must be accompanied by a copy of applicant's driver’s license or other information as required by the Texas Property Tax Code. Applicant may also be required to complete an affidavit to qualify for an exemption under certain situations.

Anyone who is a registered voter residing within the Chapel Hill ISD boundaries can vote in this election. You do not have to own property or be a taxpayer to vote. Regardless of how you vote, we encourage you to do so, your vote is your voice! For voters who are not already registered, you may become a registered voter by having your voter registration card post-marked no later than 30 days prior to the election date of May 4, 2024.
